With Cyclone Debbie having now passed through the Burdekin and Bowen Region in the last 24 hours, Darian Farming Company are thankful to understand that all of its Home Hill and Bowen staff and respective families are safe.

“Darian Farming Company has avoided any catastrophic damage to infrastructure in both Home Hill and Bowen, and at this early stage with limited access, we will be in a better position to assess our crop damage over the coming days” said COO  Mr Rodney Emerick.

“Whilst we understand at this early stage that our people are safe, we need to appreciate the severity of the cyclone in the region, and that it has undoubtedly caused significant damage to our staff’s personal property which they are now faced with understanding the extent of any damage and the required repairs. These events are challenging for everyone, and we are all thinking of the entire North Queensland farming community”, stated Mr Emerick.

CEO Fabian Carniel said that he was very proud of the Darian Team’s pre cyclone preparation, and how the Team was now getting on with the job at hand for the season ahead. “In the meantime our other national sites in Darian SE QLD, Glen Innes NSW and Boisdale VIC remain focused on business as usual by supporting and delivering on pre and post Easter supply” Mr Carniel stated.
